Nebraska Mega Millions
The Mega Millions® jackpot starts at $12 million and continues to grow each drawing until it is won. The first Mega Millions drawing to include Nebraska tickets was held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010.
Annuity or Cash option
You can choose how to collect your Mega Millions jackpot--26 annual payments (over 25 years) or one cash payment (present value*)--up to 60 days after you become entitled to the prize.
* if you choose cash, the present cash value is less than the advertised jackpot, which is based on a 26-year annuity.
How to Play
Pick five numbers between 1 and 56 for your five white ball numbers by marking the top section of the Mega Millions play slip. Then, pick one number between 1 and 46 for your gold Mega Ball® number by marking the bottom section of the Mega Millions play slip, or mark the quick pick box on the play slip.
Each play costs $1 and you can pick up to five different sets of numbers on each playslip. You can purchase the same numbers for up to 24 consecutive drawings when you use the multi-draw box on the play slip.
Megaplier®
Players who choose to add the $1 Megaplier option have the chance to multiply prizes between $2 and $250,000 as many as two, three, or four times. The Megaplier number is chosen from a field of 21 numbers according to the following frequency: twelve (12) number 4's, seven (7) number 3's, and two (2) number 2's. The Match 5 prize is guaranteed to always draw the 4X multiplier, giving players the chance to turn a $250,000 prize into a $1 million prize when purchasing the Megaplier option (beginning with the September 14, 2010, drawing).
As of June 26, 2011, tickets can be purchased from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. (Central Time) any day of the week except from 9:00 p.m. to 9:03 p.m. on drawing nights. Review your play slip carefully before giving it to the clerk. Once printed, a ticket cannot be canceled. Check your tickets before leaving the store.
Tuesday and Friday drawings
The winning numbers will be announced every Tuesday and Friday at 10 p.m. Central Time. Get winning numbers here (nelottery.com), from your favorite radio or television station or Nebraska Lottery Lotto retailer, in your local newspaper or USA Today, or on the Players Hotline at 1-800-224-LUCK (5825) or in Lincoln at 402-471-6139.
